MENS DISCIPLESHIP PROGRAM The Medford Gospel Mission offers a discipleship program for men who are committed to growing in Christ for an extended period of time. This is a residential program that is personalized to help men as they strive to get to know Christ better and get involved in the life of the Church.
The Medford Gospel Mission has a three pillar approach to discipleship. Our disciples are students of the Word, servants of the Lord, and serious worshippers of Christ. DISCIPLES ARE STUDENTS OF THE WORD In being a student of the Word, our disciples spend much of their time studying the Word of God. Their day starts with morning bible study. Then they meet with a study partner to pray and read through scripture, They read through the entire bible twice every year. They also take weekly classes that are designed to teach the disciple to be a mature man of God. DISCIPLES ARE SERVANTS OF THE LORD The disciples play an important role in the day to day operations at the MGM. In fact, the deskman that greets you at chapel service is one of our disciples, the men that work along side you when you volunteer to serve dinner at the MGM is a disciple. These men are taught, “So, whether you eat of drink, or whatever you do, do a! for the glory of God.” (1 Corinthians 10:31). DISCIPLES ARE SERIOUS WORSHIPPERS Because we know that discipleship is done most effectively in the life of the church, our disciples find and attend local churches in which they are encouraged to meet with the pastors, become regular worshippers, attend bible studies, in short, be involved in the life of the church. |
